Due to its ideal position in the very heart of Central Dalmatia, almost halfway between the towns of Split (20 km to the north) and Makarska (35 km to the south), as well as the magnificent beauty and contrast of the sea, the river and the mountains surrounding it, Omiš is the perfect destination for all adventure lovers. Here are some of the most popular activities you can do here during your summer vacation.
Rafting on the Cetina river lasts between 3 and 4 hours and is organized on a 9 km long part of the river, from the village of Penšići to the restaurant "Radmanove mlinice".
Every morning several tourist boats sail out from Omiš towards Brač, Hvar and other islands and towns on the coast, and along with the boat fare on any of them you will be buying a first-rate experience of Dalmatia.
Omiš is surrounded with cliffs and a canyon, so rock climbing here is a big deal. Omiš area counts about 200 routes in the numerous sectors all around the canyon, with difficulties from 4a to 8b. There are biggest number are sport routes (up to 30m) but you can also find multi-pitch routes up to 300m. Omiš really offers whole variety of climbing and the climbing season last whole year long.
The Cetina river is calm, whch makes renting boat fun and safe. Small boats can be hired with or without skipper. Either way you'll make your way up the river, through canyons, so have your camera handy.
Paddle along the Cetina river taking in the wonderful natural scenery. Canoe down one of Croatia's prettiest rivers with one or two of your best buddies and then enjoy a picnic lunch by the river.
The Zip-line in Omiš, run by Zip-Line Croatia has 8 Zip lines which cross the Cetina river canyon 3km out of Omiš.
In Omiš, experienced pilots fly since late 80s. The start position for take off is the mountain Imber and the landing is at the city beach. Tandem flights (where one person is pilot and another one is the passenger) are the perfect opportunity for those who want to taste the exhilarating sensation of flying with an experienced pilot at their side.
